What is Community Counseling Services Training and Support?

We provide online professional counselor training and on-going online supervision and support for non-profit organizations and for-profit counseling services. For example, individuals wanting to offer counseling services in their community as a church ministry or as a business, can receive training and support from us to establish a counseling service and to bring people seeking help to their counseling service.

What is the training?

The training begins with the online "Professional Counselor Training Course" based on the College Manual, followed by "Intern" membership in the College of Mental Health Counseling. During the first year of membership, the "Intern Counselor" receives support and orientation from the "Supervizing Counselor" to generate clients and to determine what counseling approaches to use. After two additional years as an "Intern Counselor," the member is able to become a "Full Counselor."

How much does it cost?

The initial training course tuition is $500. Intern annual membership fee is $175, and the annual supervision fee is $500 allowing direct on-call as-needed access to an experienced professional therapist. (The annual supervision fee is $200 for non-profit organizations and churches.)

How do I know I can succeed as a counselor?

Of course there are no guarantees. Because of our purpose to contribute to mental health, we are fully committed to your success at being able to establish a community counseling service.

Do you have a sincere desire and interest in helping others?
Do you find that people already feel comfortable telling you about their problems?
Do you possess natural qualities of warmth, empathy, and non-judgmental positive regard for others?

If your answer is 'yes' to the above questions, you are already a counselor in the natural sense. With the online training and supervision we provide, you can become intentional and effective as a professional counselor.

What types or areas of counseling can one learn to do?

You can choose any or all of the following areas of special focus during your supervision:

1. Marriage Communication and Conflict Resolution
2. Grief and Bereavement Counseling: Break-up, Death of Loved One, Bankruptcy, Divorce, Illness, and Other Losses
3. Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse: Sexual, Physical, Emotional
